Welcome To Green Umbrella Organization

Green Umbrella was founded by Buddhist monks in December 2012. It is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) established to help improve living standards and provide education for Cambodian children, from preschool to high school levels.
With teachers and students working together, Green Umbrella’s mission also focuses on developing local, sustainable resources. For example, Green Umbrella hopes to empower the local community by training local highschool students to share their knowledge and skills with others.
These student-teachers will bring their newly acquired skills and knowledge to the Good Kid’s School and will received some compensation as an incentive and to support their further education.
Another important component of Green Umbrella are Women Development Teams (WDT), working groups of girls and women who will provide educational services and other assistance to needy families and to those with disabilities. Green Umbrella places great emphasis on gender equality and equal opportunities in our scholastic and vocational education programs.
With the help of our dedicated volunteers, who live and work in the communities in which they serve, and our international donors, Green Umbrella provides valuable resources for the betterment and advancement of our community.
